Approximately 2 to 3 percent of the total American population has a condition called vengeance accommodation conflict that causes only one eye to turn inward to track moving objects. Other conditions that are frequently disclosed by watching 3D movies include glaucoma, retinal problems, cataracts and amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye.
Sufferers often don’t know precisely what is wrong; they only know that they do not see the movie as it is meant to be seen, and as others in the audience seem to enjoy it. However, upon discovering their vision problems, many individuals are moved to seek treatment. Many effective treatments exist for visual problems disclosed by viewing 3D movies including surgery, corrective eyeglasses and contact lenses. A report by the BBC states that including 3D instruction as part of the classroom experience has an overall strongly positive effect. Research conducted in schools across Europe showed that students with 3D enhanced instruction developed better concentration skills. Shy children who often hesitate to speak up in class were encouraged to become active participants.
The study, conducted on behalf of Texas Instruments, included 740 children in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Turkey. The children were tested before and after a biology lesson that included information about the functions of the body. Students were tested before and after the lesson. Test results revealed that 86 percent of students in 3D enhanced classroom environments showed improved test result as compared with 52 percent students in a control group who were not exposed to 3D Visual Diagnostic Tool & other related technologies. A whopping 92 percent of students in 3D enhanced classrooms displayed better attention skills after the lesson, as opposed to 46 percent of students in traditional classrooms.
